Mechanical Design in SolidWorks

Mechanical Design Practice in SolidWorks

Machine 1

Machine 4

Machine 6

3D mechanical design of the assemblies has been created in SolidWorks (Mechanical Engineering Design software) and all design samples are shown in photo format (JPEG file).

The top photo is 3D models of the rotating handle. These are all the parts in an exploded position relative to each other.

Second photo is a 3D example design of the machine, and this sample design is from AutoCAD 2009 book. This is the assembly design photos with all the parts are assembled together.

Third photo is the exploded 3D model of the mechanism, and the model has been created with the suitable lighting, shadow and materials.

Machine 1

It is for the practice to learn the assembly from the parts. There are 6 parts to combine to be the assembly. It is to create the parts step by step. When it has done to be the Assembly name “Machine 1, It has been created all the detail in the drawing. At this assembly, all the parts are created with several common SolidWorks tools, including extrudes, cut-extrudes, mirrors, chamfers and fillets.

There are 5 Items to make the assembly for the mechanism. Which are in the following list.

1. Machine 1.0
2. Machine 1.1
3. Machine 1.2
4. Machine 1.3
5. Machine 1.4
6. Machine 1.5

  2. Since Solidworks is a vector based program and cannot save to a rasterized file format, you will need to either do a screen grab (screen capture) and save to JPG or print to PDF and embed the PDF file in the PowerPoint file.
